AUSTRALIA's international race track commentator, PeterMorrison, is truly no stranger to racing fans in the Philippines. Hisstrong voice describing the action at the races plus his face arewell documented both on TV and in the press since way back inthe early 1980's.It all began for Manila
It all began for Manila by a chance remark by an Australianracing enthusiast who was part of a tour group Morrison hadbrought to Asia to experience local racing. (This venture includedracing in Singapore, Hong Kong & Thailand.) The race goerinformed one of the stewards of the Manila Jockey Club thatMorrison was a noted caller in Australia. He was immediatelyencouraged to announce one of the races. Peter Morrison earnedstrong applause from Manila patrons.Soon after, the then-mayor of Manila, Ramon Bagatsing,requested for him to return to Manila to call his sponsored GranCopa de Manila Stakes. Again fans gave him rousing support.This was the commencement of almost three decades ofbroadcasting the Gran Copa. His great popularity had himreturning for many other feature events including Founders' Cups,Triple Crowns, Presidential Gold Cups, Klub Don Juan de ManilaDerbies, & MARHO Breeders' Cups.Morrison is a much-celebrated announcer with far-reachingexperience. He has been invited to the United Kingdom by The Jockey Club of England, where his itinerary included calling atthe famous Newmarket and Nottingham racecourses. He alsoreceived accolades for his calls in the USA, especially at theMaywood Track in Chicago and Barrie in Canada for the standardbreeds racing.In Australia, Peter, in addition to his commentating, is highlyexperienced in administration, having served as the president ofthe Albany & Districts Trotting Club for eight racing seasons. Hehas also done sports reporting for newspapers and magazinesand has years of experience of working for radio and TV.Peter is friendly and sociable and has very many friendswithin the Philippine racing industry. Racing Manager Rudy Pradoand ex-Steward Henry Beech were early friends at Manila JockeyClub (MJC), and former Congressman Dondon Bagatsing, whohas visited Morrison in Australia, is rated one of his best mates.Amongst many ventures, Peter brought foreign riders tocompete in Manila's special racing events. First it was Australianlady jockey Leanne Howlett; then in 2004, for the Klub Don Juande Manila Derby, he recruited Alana Sansom, Bernadette Cooper,and David O'Heare. He also arranged for local jockeys, VirgilioCamanero Jr. and Antonio Jacob to ride for three months inAustralia under contract. Both did very well, riding many winnersduring their stay. (Michael is one of Peter Morrison's best mates.)

ITO kasing malokong hinete na ito ang naghulog ng Winner-Take-All ni Glen sometime in 2009 -- 2011.
Ganito kasi yun. After 6 races, 6pts si pare sa WTA nya.
So that means one race to go, ang natitira - 4 Live units .
isang ticket ang kay Glen dun sa 4 Live units na iy0n...outstanding favorite ang sakay ni Mr. VIAJERO sa last race ng WTA...so he did what he does best -- kinahon ang dollar na kabayo.......P0RQUE hindi lang inabutan, PINERDER na ang parating ni Glen...> So for the next 5 years, hindi tinayaan ni Glen yang hinete na yan, ------- kahit S0BRAng patok pa ang kabayo.

At matinding imbestigasyon talaga ang ginawa ni Glen.
Ginamit nya ang kanyang mga connections sa karera
solely for the intent of verifying if the Jockey did it
on his own, or if he received instructions from the
Trainer or HorseOwner...(to fix the race).
And it was confirmed...the Jockey did not receive any
orders from the HorseOwner because the latter was not
at the race venue that day. So this means the instruction should come from the Trainer on such a situation.
And if you ask the veterans in this type of predicament,
they will have this to say:
"We cannot blame the Trainer if ever the horse loses
because the performance of the horse wrests solely
on the hands of the Jockey who controls the reigns."
Ngayon lang ako nakakita ng sobrang poot at galit
ng racing fan sa hinete. Wala naman kasing dahilan
ang pagperder sa kabayo. Unang-una, marami naman
siyang pera. Pangalawa, wala pala sa priority nya
ang kaligayahan ng mga Racing Fans na namumuro sa
Winner-Take-All. Buti sana kung first 4 races lang
ng WTA yun, eh hindi eh. Parating yun mga igan,
